Your thinking and what goes on in your mind can effect your physical health.The Health leaflets warn us about our `stress levels`.Worry and excitement has an effect on your body eg. butterflies in the stomach or running to the toilet.Have you ever shaken with anger or been so stressed out that you get tense?Many serious illnesses can be traced back to a unhealthy mental state.To be whole and enjoy good health it`s important to follow Gods instructions concerning how we think as well as what we do with our body.
1.Choose what you think.Just as its important to make right choices in what you put into your body eg food and drink, so its important to choose what goes into your mind.People are doing what they are doing and feeling the way they feel because of what they have chosen to believe and think.For as he thinks within himself so he is. PROV.23:7.Do you want a transformation? Be transformed by the renewing of your mind. ROM.12;2.
2.Focus on good not evil.Meditate on whatever is true,noble,just,pure,lovely,of good report,praiseworthy…PHIL.4:8 Get rid of stinking thinking such as pride, greed,hatred,bitterness,selfishness lovelessness,anger,strife….
3.Forgive and forget.Jesus taught forgiveness. MATT.5:23,24 ; 6:14,15.Confess your faults to one another,pray for one another that you may be healed. JAS5:14-16.Don`t hold grudges and do not let bitterness take root. cf.COL.3:19 ; HEB.12:15 ; 1COR.13.
4.Meditate on Gods Word.Let the Word of God dwell in you richly.COL.3:16.PSA1.To be spiritually minded is life and peace. ROM.8:6 ; PHIL.4:9.Read,write,speak and think the Word of God.
5.Know Gods love. Mens hearts fail them for fear. LK21:26. However to know and receive Gods love saves from wrath. ROM.5;8,9.Prefect love casts out all fear. 1JN4:18.As believers we are more than conquerors through Him who loves us.Who or what can separate us from the love of God?ROM.8:31-39.
6.Trust God.Isa.26:3. You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You.
7.Be Content.Some are always striving for things or to get ahead and are never
satisfied. Focusing on what they don`t have and not appreciating what they already have. In need or in plenty Paul learned to be content in whatever state he was in. PHIL.4:11 Godliness with contentment is great gain. 1TIM.6:6.
8.Rest not stress.Take time out.Relax.Take a break.Follow Gods example and work 6 days and rest on the seventh.EPHES.5:1 ; GEN.1-2:1
9.Pray to God.Cast your burdens unto Jesus.Have no anxiety about anything but in everything(no matter how big or small)let your requests be made known to God.He`ll guard your mind with His peace. PHIL.4:4-7.
10.Rejoice in the Lord. PHIL.4:4-6.Even when you pray do it with thanksgiving.
The joy of the Lord is your strength. NEH.8:10 A merry heart doeth good like a medicine. PROV.17:22.
Have a healthy soul.Take charge of your thinking.
